uh no i got a boner

A good script is ALMOST always able to save something from being bad. Good is only good art. The art will always be good, but... unless it's an art display, a script is far more important. You shouldn't really be lenient with your art, but you should always have a solid script. A good example would be the 2007 animated TMNT film. Some of the best artwork ever, that rather then being in a fucking simple animated movie, the fight scenes could be mistaken for a cutscene battle from a top-notch 360 video game. The problem...? The script was shoddy. It had a few plotholes, but the biggest issue is it was only written for old fans. On top, it stepped into territory the series never really went too to often, going far more for magic then ridiculous science this time around.

I think the better is a combination of both whereas art and script follows each other.
Say you've got a really complicated and elaborate artwork, the script should be equally elaborate, paying as much attention to details.

So say you've got a brackenwood style animation going, you'll prolly need a decent story to back it up, otherwise it'll seem a bit pointless I reckon.

Basically, if the story is too elaborate compared to the artwork, the story will probably be degraded to a certain degree, and it'll probably be hard to keep engaged to the movie/game.

if it's the other way around, it'll probably be a bit odd to watch because the viewer will probably anticipate a good plot.

That being said there are always exceptions, but I do believe the best bet is to have both going on good.

if the script is messed up, the flash is messed up. if the script is done right, than the art adds a lot to it, but nothing ruins a flash than glitchs in gameplay.
